The inaugural rally took place this year, 2022. Over two days, participants covered more than 120km in and around the regions of Saint-Émilion, Pomerol and Fronsac, with stops along the way to sample many of the sights, sounds – and tastes – that this splendid wine country has to offer. These included Château La Dominique with its famous Terrace Rouge, Château Soutard and its resplendent underground cellar and the imposing defensive fortress of the Château de La Rivière.
Plans for the 2023 rally are already underway and will be communicated in more detail closer to the date. As was the case this year, the winner of the rally takes home a fine Château Méaume claret jug.
But winning the Château Méaume Invitational Rallye brings with it another unique opportunity: the chance to have one’s own classic car feature on the label of a limited number of bottles from the estate’s following year’s vintage. Typically, this means some 60 cases (360 bottles), one of which is gifted to each participant – and none of which are available for general retail sale.
